Their Software Is Better Than Ours

Said plainly, because it is true. ZenBusiness has put serious money into the dashboard and it shows: one tidy console holding formation records, filing status, agent correspondence and compliance prompts.

We run a document portal and a reminder system. We do not run a product suite, and we are not going to pretend the two experiences feel the same. If the console is what you want, buying it is a legitimate decision. Just make it knowing that is what you are buying.

Read the Second Line of the Price

Standalone registered agent service, purchased without a formation package: $99 plus state fees for the opening term, then $199 a year.

Both figures are published. Only one of them recurs. Florida wants an appointed agent for every year the entity sits on the register, which makes $199 the price of the relationship and $99 the price of entering it.

The "plus state fees" wording matters as well. Any state filing folded into that order gets charged on top, which makes the advertised figure a floor rather than the whole bill.

Stretch that to a decade and the standalone path reaches $1,890 while ours reaches $990. The dashboard would need to be worth $900 to you over ten years, which for some owners it genuinely is. For most it is not, and the honest way to find out is to price the console separately in your head from the appointment underneath it.

Which is the fair way to frame this entire page. It is not a quality argument. It is an argument about scope and price. You are choosing between a broad platform whose agent module renews at $199 and a single-purpose Florida service that renews at $99, and nobody except you can put a value on the rest of the platform.

Cheapest in Florida is a claim we cannot make. BetterLegal's $90 sits below our $99. Ours ranks among the lowest published Florida rates, and it does not change shape in year two.

Swapping ZenBusiness Out on Sunbiz

Two paths, and which is cheaper depends on the calendar.

Path one is the annual report. Fla. Stat. § 605.0212 requires every Florida LLC to file one, online, between January 1 and May 1. That report carries a registered agent field. Name your incoming agent in that field and the change rides along on a filing you already have to make, with the new agent signing electronically to accept and no separate change fee due.

Path two is the standalone change form, sent to the Division of Corporations with $25, available at any point in the year.

Whichever path suits your timing, do not cancel ZenBusiness until Sunbiz shows the new agent on your record. The public record is the only version of this that counts, and a few days of overlap costs nothing while a few days of vacancy could cost a great deal.
