doola Alternative for Starting a Florida Company From Overseas
doola is a subscription with many add-on services. We charge $399 once plus Florida's $125 filing fee, and our registered agent is the one thing that renews, at $99/yr.
Founders abroad who search for a way into the US market usually find doola first. It's a large company, and after formation it can keep going with bookkeeping, tax returns, and state compliance. Our Non-US Founder Package is narrower: a Florida LLC for someone living overseas, an EIN without a Social Security Number, and a bank application we prepare for you. This is our package, so read what follows as one competitor's comparison.

Why founders overseas choose doola
doola says it has formed more than 22,000 companies for people in over 175 countries, and its pricing reflects a company that wants to stay with you for years. Pulse adds bookkeeping for $300 a year. Tax and Compliance files federal and state returns and takes care of annual state reports, which matters in Florida because the state expects a report every spring. Business-in-a-Box includes a bookkeeper of your own. It forms corporations too, and guarantees its formations with a refund. On banking, doola points customers to Mercury, where you apply with your passport.
Florida isn't named on doola's pricing page, so confirm the state with doola before you buy.
Year by year in Florida
| doola Starter | Our package | |
|---|---|---|
| Year one | $362 promo, $422 list | $524 |
| Year two onward, provider fee | Starter renewal not published | $99 |
| Florida annual report ($138.75 to the state) | You file it, unless you upgrade | You file it |
doola is cheaper in the first year by $102 to $162. For later years only our side has a published figure.
What we do differently
- A price that stays put. $399 once, then $99 a year for the agent, cancellable from your dashboard. No plan to renew.
- A bank application you don't have to write. doola's route ends at a Mercury referral. Here, we draft your application for our partners from your checkout answers and include your filed Florida Articles. It's ready by the time you've signed the SS-4, you approve it, and it's sent while the IRS is still working on your EIN. Our partners decide each application; no approval is promised.
- The paper EIN route, handled. Overseas founders usually can't use the IRS website. We prepare Form SS-4 for you to e-sign and fax it in; the IRS normally needs two to eight weeks and won't hurry.
doola is the better fit when
- You'd like one company to form the LLC and, later, prepare your returns.
- Someone else should file the Florida report each year.
- You want bookkeeping or a C-corp.
- The first-year price is what you care about most.
After your Florida LLC is formed
Two things remain yours with our package. The Florida annual report is filed on Sunbiz from January 1 to May 1 for $138.75, and filing late brings a $400 fee Florida won't waive. Federal tax is the other: a single-member LLC with a foreign owner usually owes the IRS Form 5472 plus a pro forma 1120 annually, which is work for a tax professional.

Common questions
How much would doola and your package cost me in Florida?
doola Starter showed $237 on sale and $297 at list; add Florida's $125 and year one is $362 to $422. Ours is $399 plus $125, so $524.
Can doola set up a Florida LLC?
The doola pricing page lists no states. Its non-resident guide mostly recommends Wyoming or Delaware while saying any state works, so check Florida with doola.
Does either one handle Florida's annual report?
Not at the entry level. doola's Starter leaves it out, and so does our package. doola's Tax and Compliance plan and above include state annual reports; with us you'd file the $138.75 report yourself or hire help.
What if I need my US taxes done?
doola sells federal and state returns under Tax and Compliance, listed at $1,999 a year and discounted to $1,599 when we checked. Its pricing page doesn't mention Form 5472 by name. We have no tax service.
Do I need an EIN before my bank application can be sent?
Not with us. The application for our partners is ready as soon as your SS-4 is signed, drafted from your order with your Florida Articles attached. You approve it and we send it; the EIN comes afterward. Our partners decide whether to approve the account.
